Way back in 2011, while travelling through the bylanes and galis near, we came across a painter. Deft brush strokes on the wall without fear of even a slightest mistake, he was busy hitting the strokes, as if doing rough work.. Paan in his mouth, and seeing the audience in awe, he became conscious. But then he said, this comes easy to him. The end result was seen to be believed, and then We hit upon an idea that this needs to be told to the world.

By the way, we had just witnessed the tip of the iceberg. The real stuff lay deep down under. What you see, is definitely true but to capture the complete picture in panaromic view, you need time, and time came some days later. We decided to explore. The ghats, the galis, the tea stalls, the lassi bars, the thandaai shops, the cottage guys, the wood workers, the fabric guys, the metal craftsmen —- its like a never ending soiree. We though let us show everything to the world; and make moolah for ourselves and for the guys as well. There, that thought has made us the founders of athizay.

athizay is truly an ode to the Indian Artisan. We would showcase a lot of stuff; across a lot of avenues.
